Africa-owned Knowledge Products

Recognizing the dominance of studies authored in the Global North, we promote climate studies made locally with an African perspective.  By doing so, we work to ensure Africa's voice is at the center of the global climate conversation.

Empowering Local Resilience and Climate Adaptation

We help African communities adapt to climate change. We focus on supporting local communities to create their own solutions to the climate crisis, addressing challenges like extreme weather, changes in agriculture, and the influence of governments and corporations.

Accountability from the Global North

We advocate that rich polluting countries should pay the costs of repairing the damage caused by their pollution and finance the adaptation of populations to extreme weather events. We believe that climate justice means holding those primarily responsible to account and ensuring that they support adaptation and mitigation efforts.

Civic Spaces

We promote accountable, just and inclusive democracies, governed by the rule of law, in which basic rights are protected and promoted.  Together with our partners, we defend and champion the fundamental right to freedom of speech and association. We relentlessly fight against corruption, oppose any attempts to suppress civic spaces, and challenge the abuse of constitutional and political power, including the removal and reduction of women’s rights and workers’ rights. We ensure that those in positions of authority are held firmly accountable for their decisions and actions.

Fiscal Justice and Debt Sustainability

We advocate for fairer fiscal systems that support progressive taxation and the sharing of income from natural resources. We combat illicit financial flows and other actions that contribute to growing inequality. We expose Africa’s crippling debt burdens, highlight their impacts and demand a united front on debt relief.

Youth and Social Movements
